Coach Alexandria Salas was first exposed to volleyball in 5th grade and then began to play for her middle school in 6th grade. After playing for 3 years in middle school, she went on to play all four years of high school at Turlock High. During high school she also played travel volleyball where she was a defensive specialist, setter, and team captain. Her years of playing volleyball formed a love for the sport, teamwork, communication, and a deep rooted passion that led her to coaching immediately after her years of playing were over.
Coach Salas began coaching for Mountain View Middle School where she has coached for over 10 years. During her time coaching volleyball there, she quickly moved from Assistant Coach to Head Coach, and Athletic Director. She holds these positions close to her heart as creating teams built on foundations, commitment, accountability, and teamwork is something she enjoys. Watching her athletes flourish is one of her favorite things. When she is not on the volleyball court, you can find Coach Salas in the classroom teaching 5th graders, or at home with her husband, two children, and four doxies. She enjoys traveling to Monterey to sit by the ocean, finding new coffee spots, and creating new memories through adventures like going to amusement parks, or swimming with sharks.Â
