Abby Castillon grew up in Modesto, California, where her parents introduced her to sports at a young age, fostering a lifelong love for athletics and volleyball. She attended Central Catholic High School, where she recorded over 1,000 kills in two seasons while earning All-League, All-State, and MaxPreps All-American honors.
Abby continued her volleyball career as an NCAA Division I outside hitter at Saint Mary’s College of California, competing in the West Coast Conference against some of the nation’s top volleyball programs. During her collegiate career, she earned WCC Defensive Player of the Week and WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention honors while serving as team captain and in leadership roles for two years. Those experiences shaped Abby’s coaching philosophy and reinforced the importance of creating an environment where athletes feel empowered to take risks, learn from mistakes, and grow with confidence. After competing at the highest collegiate level, she believes the mental side of volleyball is just as important as the physical and is passionate about helping young athletes build confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love for the game while becoming stronger teammates and young women.
Abby earned her degree in Biology from Saint Mary’s College and is pursuing a career in healthcare, reflecting her passion for serving others on and off the court.
Outside of volleyball, Abby enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and has recently discovered a love for sewing and crafting.
