17-1 Assistant Coach

Angela was born and raised in Turlock. She attended Turlock High School and played on the varsity volleyball team for four years. Angela was Co-MVP her sophomore year and MVP her junior and senior year. She was also named District Player of the year during her junior and senior year. Angela played for Stanislaus Volleyball Club from 6th grade until her junior year in high school. During Angela’s senior year in high school she began coaching for Stanislaus Volleyball Club; she started coaching a group of 14 and under girls (including Kristen Pontes-Christian) and coached them all the way through their high school careers. Angela graduated from Turlock High School in 1996.

After high school, Angela played four years for CSU, Stanislaus where she was a middle blocker and defensive specialist. During her college career she was named MVP for three years. Angela graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and a concentration in Physical Education. She has been an educator for 18 years where she taught for 11 years, was an instructional coach for 1 year, and has been an administrator for the past 6 years for Turlock Unified School District. Angela and her husband, Gavin, reside in Hilmar with their son and daughter.
